Tracy Morgan: Picking Up The Pieces
If anyone is a Tracy Morgan fan then you’ll be happy to know he is back on tour, albeit pricey, but still back on tour. In 2014 Tracy was injured (sadly, his friend was killed) in a major accident on the New Jersey Turnpike. Thankfully the funny man is still around to bring us laughs. The show will be held at The Kennedy Center, which is an excellent venue. There are tickets still available but not very many so hurry!
The 34th Annual Smithsonian Craft Show
Apparently this is not to be missed, you are supposed to bid but that doesn’t mean you have to.
This show is hosted by the Smithsonian Women’s Committee to support its Grants Fund. Grants are awarded to address the Smithsonian’s Four Grand Challenges: Unlocking the Mysteries of the Universe, Valuing World Cultures, Understanding and Sustaining a Biodiverse Planet, and Understanding the American Experience.
The show will be held at the National Building Museum and will feature over 121 distinguished craft artists. There will also be a sale of on-of-a-kind limited edition works ranging from furniture to ceramics. Ticketing seems a little confusing, I can’t locate a price so I’m going to assume it is free to enter, which is always lovely. You can get more information here.
The 1st Annual National Cannabis Festival at RFK Stadium
April 23rd l noon – 8 pm
As you can guess, this is a new event and is a celebration of all of the advocates that made the legalization of marijuana a reality in DC. There will be music, games, food and bevarages but make sure you read the DC cannabis laws before attending with anything…herbal.
The full-day festival features De La Soul as its headlining act, with earlier performances by Jesse Royal, Congo Sanchez, Backyard Band and Nappy Riddem. The day also includes an education pavilion and fairs dedicated to advocacy and vendors.
