Cherry Blossom Festival Family Day with the National Building Museum

March 26th l 9 am – 5 pm

Spring is right around the corner. In parks, gardens, forests, and fields, grass is turning green, flowers are in bloom, and tress and budding. Celebrate springtime in our nation’s capital and in the parks and green spaces in your life by joining us for a day of hands-on activities and games focused on parks, planning, landscape design, and architecture. Activities include: folding origami masterpieces, designing a memorial for the National Mall, constructing a tatebanko diorama, meeting DuAro (Kawasaki’s robot), trying on traditional Japanese clothing and learning more about the National Park Service’s Centennial celebration. The event is completely free and unlike the Opening Ceremony, no tickets are necessary.

Kevin Eubanks at Blues Alley

March 24th –  March 27th l 8 pm & 10 pm

The average late-night television viewer knows Kevin Eubanks, who plays Blues Alley this weekend, as the longtime leader of the Tonight Show Band during Jay Leno’s run on the iconic NBC program. But the guitarist had an active music career long before getting paid to laugh at Leno’s jokes. Now Eubanks is touring the world with various groups and also playing solo shows, as he’ll do in two shows each night this weekend, starting at 8 and 10 p.m. Tickets are $30-$35. – Washington Post
