Here’s a trio of events to keep your weekend spooky, festive and flavorful:

DC Bike Party Halloween Ride

dcbikepartyThe DC Bike Party will host a special Friday night ride and warehouse party to celebrate Halloween. The theme: Super Villains.

Riders will gather at 7:30 p.m. in the center of Dupont Circle, then hit the streets at 8:00 p.m. sharp. Sound Bike DC will play monster mashups for your listening pleasure.

The after party celebration will convene at 1325 5th St. NE where The Originators DC will provide live tunes. Also, beers will be about $5 a pop.

Takoma Park Street Festival 2.0

The 34th Antakomastreetfestnual Takoma Park Street Festival, Version 2.0 will take place on Carroll Avenue in Takoma Park. From 10:00 a.m. – 5 p.m., the event will feature works of local artists selling paintings, photographs, pottery, silk-screening, soaps, stained glass, jewelry, woodworking, textiles, ceramics, kids’ items and much more.

Local community organizations, green companies, food trucks and food vendors will also be on the block. And, of course, Takoma’s indie businesses will be open for patronizing.  The kid-friendly event will also feature crafts, face painting, inflatables and a free concert by kid’s performer, Mr. Gabe at 11:00 a.m. at the Gazebo Stage.

DC Oysterfest

dcoysterfestRappahannock Oyster Bar will host its second D.C. Oysterfest at Dock 5 @ Union Market. Oysters will be served in abundance, offering Rappahannock River Oyster Company’s own bivalves, sustainably farmed throughout the Chesapeake Bay area.

The festival will also feature food, beer and wine from local food favorites like 3 Stars Brewing Company, Hardywood Brewery, Red Apron, Gordy’s Pickles, Early Mountain Wine, Pepe by José Andres, DC Slices, Capitoline Vermouth, Flying Dog Brewery, Dolcezza, James River Distillery & more.

Live bluegrass music by Circa Blue will set the mood.
