DC Scoop

dcscoopUnion Market’s Dock 5 is expected to draw thousands to its 5th annual DC Scoop event, Saturday from 1:00pm-4:00pm.

The event will feature over 15 creameries who will compete to win the crown title of “Best Ice Cream.” They will also offer free samples and servings for purchase–from gelato to ice cream sandwiches, popsicles to soda shoppe-style scoops. Participants include Milk Cult, Little Baby’s Ice Cream, Gifford’s, King of Pop’s, Carmens, NiceCream, Ice Cream Jubilee, DC Puddin’ and more.

Guests can also participate in ice cream-eating contests, raffles, and giveaways. Timber Pizza Co., Buffalo & Bergen and Trickling Springs will join in the festivities with savory treats and ice cream floats.

March on Washington Film Festival

Friday, July 17, 2015  – Saturday, July 25, 2015

MoWFilmFestReturning for its 3rd year, the March on Washington Film Festival features films to increase awareness of the events and heroes of the Civil Rights era and inspire renewed passion for activism.

Each screening is followed by a panel discussion with intimate and meaningful conversations. Musical performances and art exhibits are also event favorites. The festival runs until Saturday, July 25.

Capital Fringe Festival

July 2015 – August 2015 

capitalfringeThe Capital Fringe Festival is back in the District and at a new location: 1358 Florida Ave in NE DC. Over a 22 day period from July until August, the festival features non-stop theatre, dance, music, visual art, and everything in-between.

Audiences enjoy creative experiences and artists develop their artistic visions in total freedom without any curatorial barriers.
