8th Annual East of the River Exhibition

The Anacostia Arts Center will present 13 new works by Cuban-born artist Gustavo Diaz Sosa. The Honfleur Gallery will feature work by artists who live, work, or have roots in Ward 7 & 8. Vivid Solutions Gallery will feature work by French, Mansa Mussa, Muata Langley, Nicole Mason, and Edward Keith II.
A discussion moderated by Jim Byers, Metro Mambo host and radio personality for WPFW 89.3 FM’s “Latin Flavor Classic Edition,” will include a exhibiting guests, Gustavo Diaz Sosa, Jonathan French and Eddie Drennon at the arts center. Live music will be performed by Eddie Drennon and his Latin Jazz band, Charanga Soul.
The festivities run 6:00pm -9:00pm at all locations and are free and open to the public.
DC Bike Party’s 3rd Anniversary Ride and After Party

It’s time to celebrate DC Bike Party! Cyclists will meet in the center of Dupont Circle at 7:30pm to hit the street at 8pm sharp. The ride will last about an hour and a half, with a pit-stop dance party in between, before the final destination: The After Party.
At City Bikes’s warehouse space at 632 W St. NE, the afterparty will include a full bar, ice cream from Milk Cult, a dance performance by Urban Artistry, bike portraits, a giant collaborative mural wall and a live performance by The Originators and more.
The party will run from 9:30pm-1:00am and is 18 and over– 21 to drink.

Capital Wine and Cider Fest

The Capital Wine & Cider Fest will offer each guest their own tasting glass, more than 50 ciders from all around world, approximately 15 beer options, more than 100 different varietals of wine — whites, reds, rose, & sparkling–all available for unlimited tastes in a single afternoon.
The event will also feature almost a dozen food options (for purchase), live music, outdoor games, arts and crafts.

Sports Family Festival

From 11:30am – 3:00pm at Kogod Courtyard at National Portrait Gallery, join some of DC’s favorite teams for a day of activities including basketball shoot rounds with the Washington Mystics and a chance to practice your shots on goal with D.C. United. Get your photo taken with Washington Nationals Racing Presidents or DC United mascot Talon the Eagle and then decorate your own frame for your photo.
Deejay Harry Hotter will be spinning tunes for the the entire family.
