Recovery Comedy Presents Clarity

Friday, January 30, 2015

recoveryThis Friday, laugh your pants off with three local comics, Petey Steele, Pete Bergen and John Conroy.

Steele has emerged as a crowd favorite for his no holds barred, verbose and volatile jokes. He covers topics as deep as modern psychiatry to as shallow as his pathetic sex life. In three short years he has already been a 2 time finalist in District Comedy’s March Madness competition, performed on stages such as the Tampa Improv, Magooby’s Joke House and the Baltimore Comedy Factory with the likes of Pablo Francisco and Teddy Carpenter. He hosts a weekly podcast, SteelbornFM showcasing the finest comics on the DMV”

Bergen has appeared at clubs and festivals all over. Audiences identify with and appreciate his honest commentary about his own struggles with addiction, being overweight and all forms of inadequacy as well as being from a giant family and someone who bartended most of his adult life. Crowds love his balance of shocking and jaw dropping stories and vulnerable self deprecation.

Conroy brings an everyman’s attitude to smart, sharply written material that runs the gamut from shrewd observations to social satire. Shortly after relocating to Minnesota, his peers voted him “2008 Best New Comic in the Twin Cities”. His sharp and well-crafted material then earned him the title of “2009 Funniest Person in the Twin Cities”. Over the next few years he made a rapid transition from opener to headliner, playing hundreds of shows each year and touring the top clubs throughout the country.
