emergefairThis Thursday, at the Capitol Skyline Hotel, the (e)merge art fair is back with art professionals, collectors, curators and cultural decision makers in the city.

The GALLERY PLATFORM features participating galleries in hotel rooms and other spaces on designated floors. The ARTIST PLATFORM features a vetted selection of works by independent artists throughout the hotel’s public areas and grounds. (e)merge’s two exhibition platforms inspire a new echelon of art collectors and provide curatorial access to the latest movements in emerging art.

The opening preview takes place Thursday from 7:00pm – 11:00pm with a party and concert by the pool. The fair continues throughout the weekend until Sunday.

Takoma Park Street Festival

takomaThis Sunday, Takoma Park will be hosting its 33rd Annual Street Festival from 10:00am – 5:00pm in Old Takoma: Carroll Avenue in Takoma Park, MD to Carroll Street, NW, DC.

The streets will be filled with music, community groups, children’s activities, food vendors and a variety of green companies. Attendees will have access to a diverse collection of affordable items from over 150 artisans to get a jumpstart on holiday shopping.

The festival will also feature three stages that play host to 18 popular, local bands performing music from indie folk, rock, blues, country, reggae and everything in between.

artsunderThis Saturday, Union Kitchen & Monroe Street Market present Arts Under The Stars, an arts walk to celebrate the arts coming to life. The event will feature live music, live theatre, artists, and food and drink options.

Performers and vendors will include Joe Keyes “The Late Bloomer” and The Late Bloomer Band, Blind Pug Arts Collective, B. LinCatering, Milk Cult, Motisola, Haute Saison Catering, Popcorn Queens, The Capital Candy Jar, and Timber Pizza Company and more.
